Welcome to the inaugural issue of Rally Report—the e-newsletter for inside info about the BMWRA national rally. Canaan Valley, West Virginia, will be kickin’ this September 14-17! Whether you’re all signed up or still thinking about attending, here’s the info you need.

Meet your rally chairs

Mr Wild and Ms Wonderful can’t wait to ride West Virginia with you! They’re hard at work making magic happen for the BMW RA 2023 National Rally.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side: What do guns, clubs, and Speedos have to do with a motorcycle rally? Mr Wild says we should bring them… although we do hear that you can rent two of those items onsite. You definitely have to bring your own Speedos.

Lodging news

If you’re not taking advantage of free tent camping during the rally, make sure you book your accommodations soon! Here are your options:

Canaan Valley Resort – When you purchase your rally tickets, you’ll receive a secret code allowing you to receive a discount on rooms, cabins, and RV camping. Open slots are now scarce, though, so we suggest getting on their waiting list if you really want to stay onsite during the rally.

Inn at Canaan – 4.6 miles/8 minutes from the rally site. Use code BMW to get a reduced rate on select rooms and apartments.

Black Bear Resort – 8.6 miles/14 minutes from the rally site. The BMW RA has blocked off rooms and cabins for rally-goers.

Bright Morning Inn – 11.9 miles/17 minutes from the rally site. Hurry, this location books fast!

Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge – 13.9 miles/22 minutes from the rally site. Use code BMW to get a reduced room rate.

Best of Canaan – This is a helpful real estate company representing 100 rental properties in the area. When booking, they suggest you share you’re on a motorcycle, since some properties have gravel drives too treacherous for two wheels.

Airbnb – More options than we can count! This link will give you search results based on Canaan Valley availabilities during rally dates only, so be sure to change your parameters if your dates are flexible.

Tucker County Recommendations – There may be some overlap with previous recommendations, but it can’t hurt to explore lodging recommended on the official Blackwater Falls/Canaan Valley website.
