What comes to mind when you think of Tennessee? Nashville, Natchez Trace, Jack Daniels' Distillery, Dollywood. Dollywood? Think horses, beautiful Tennessee Walking Horses; for this is the world you will enter when you arrive at The Celebration/Calsonic Arena for the 33rd Annual International Rally in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Entrance
The Celebration is home to the Tennessee Walking Horse Museum. Every year in September this facility celebrates this magnificent creature by crowning the champion walking horse in the country. This venue will welcome the BMW Riders in October of 2005. Make no mistake: this is not your normal "fairground" rally. These grounds are geared for horses and include ample shaded (yes shaded) camping.
Quiet Camping
All camping areas, noisy, quiet and RV will be within easy walking distance to the Rally Central in the Calsonic Arena. Shelbyville also has hotels and B&Bs to satisfy those of you who want to rough it indoors, some within easy walking distance to the venue.
Host club for the rally will be the BMW Motorcycle Club of Nashville .
Normal rally fare will be offered: seminars/speakers, motorcycle safety classes, GS and road rides, vendors, entertainment and a couple of surprises.
Dinner will be available all three nights on-site for $9 to $11 per meal. The food will be provided by The Paradise Ridge Grille, from Nashville. Click the Dinner link in the program each night to preview the menu.
Jack Daniel's visitor center
The riding couldn't be better. The surrounding countryside is full of rolling hills and sweeping turns. Ride to the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg and spend the day touring the facility, sampling the local cuisine. Travel the Natchez Trace with its history and truly scenic byways. This entire area of Tennessee is rich with Civil War history and sites, all within a few hours of the rally site.
