BMW Riders Association Southern Alps Weekend
May 11-14, 2023 (Thursday through Sunday)
The BMW Riders Association returns to Western North Carolina May 11-14, 2023, for a getaway weekend!
Join your fellow RA club members and other like-minded motorcyclists for an exciting weekend getaway ($50 members / $60 non-members) at Big Lynn Lodge in scenic Little Switzerland, North Carolina, located off of NC 226A (The Diamondback) at 4,000 feet just a hundred feet off of the Blue Ridge Parkway!
This wonderful and historic 100-year-old motel has cabins, old-style motor court rooms, and private rooms connected to the main lodge. The motel has accommodations for up to 100 people at double occupancy—that means if you pair up with a riding bud, more motorcyclists can stay at the Lodge. You will not want to miss your chance to stay at Big Lynn Lodge, so reserve today! The room rate of $155/night will include a full dinner and full hot breakfast in the onsite restaurant. Overflow motels within a short ride of Big Lynn Lodge will also be made available to attendees.
We hope to see you all there for a weekend full of meeting old and new friends, camaraderie, and riding great roads! Click here for directions to the venue.
Your registration DOES NOT include lodging. Call the Big Lynn Lodge at 828-765-4257 to reserve a room or cabin (biglynnlodge.com). Ask for Kelly or Hoyt and let them know you are with the BMW RA group. If you book only one night, a $50 deposit is required when the reservation is made. If you book two or more nights, a full one-night deposit is required when the reservation is made. When all rooms are booked at the Big Lynn Lodge, they will direct you to other partner motels, all within several miles of the Lodge.
Note about Big Lynn Lodge cancellation policy (this is for the motel only, not the RA’s registration cancellation policy listed below): In the event that you need to cancel, please do so 7 or more days prior to your arrival date. There will be a $20 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 7 days of your arrival date, you will lose your deposit. Sorry, there are no refunds for early departure.
Tent camping is not allowed at Big Lynn Lodge. Click here for a list of nearby campgrounds.
Your registration includes:
Your event registration includes access to event activities on the grounds of Big Lynn Lodge… free ride maps… live music by Bridget Gossett (from Waynesville, NC) during Friday evening dinner… and one raffle ticket for a chance to win amazing prizes during Saturday evening’s dinner. (Last year, the big prizes included a Schuberth C4 Pro helmet, a Klim Baja 4 jacket, and a free training day at the BMW U.S. Rider Academy—we are planning similar prizes for this year’s event.)
Registration is $50.00 for BMW RA members and $60.00 for non-BMW RA members.
If you are not staying at Big Lynn Lodge, please join the group for breakfasts, $7.50 per meal, and dinners, $15 per meal.
Event shirts are also available for purchase when you register online by April 15. The short sleeve shirts are $20.00 no matter the size.
REGISTRATION REFUND POLICY: Event registration fees are refundable if canceled 30 OR MORE DAYS prior to the start of the event. Cancellations less than 30 days prior to the event will receive a voucher for a future weekend getaway if the cancellation is due to one of these specific reasons:
- Death or hospitalization of the registrant or a member of their immediate family.
- Declared state of emergency within a fifty-mile radius of the event location.
