2024 Labor Day Weekend, Aug 29-Sep 1: BMW Riders Association to Converge in Maine!

Devoted BMW Riders Association members already know the scoop—the 2024 national rally will be held during Labor Day weekend in Fryeburg, Maine, a quiet little town in a region that’s chock-full of memorable rides!

Coming in hot off the wildly successful 2023 national event in West Virginia, Jill Veverka explains why she and rally co-chair Drew Alexander landed on western Maine as a perfect setting for motorcyclists to gather.

“Why Fryeburg? It has a big enough fairground to manage the RA, our Airhead friends, the GS Giants, and any other motorcycle groups who want to join us,” Jill said. The venue is the versatile, easily accessible Fryeburg Fairgrounds, home of the historic Fryeburg Fair held every autumn since 1851.

“It was Southern Maine rider Clayton Meserve who first suggested the Fryeburg Fairgrounds,” said Jill. “I could see the draw to the area the first time I rode across the Kancamangus Highway into Maine, but needed to see the venue in action with a motorcycle group. I visited Fryeburg’s fairgrounds with Clayton while another club was holding their regional rally. It didn’t take much convincing!

“New England riders want to share their hospitality and what makes the region exceptional. It’s a foodie paradise with Vermont cheese, New Hampshire syrup and fresh fish and lobster from the coast. You can ride the Green Mountains to the White Mountains, then go to the coast in only one weekend.”

Late summer typically brings mild temperatures and lower humidity to the New England states, creating comfortable conditions for any outdoor activity.

Smiling, Jill added, “A wicked good time will be had by all!”
