On behalf of the BMW Riders Association Board of Trustees, welcome to The Wicked Good Maine Event! This has been a five-year dream in the making—New England riders shared their favorite roads, Clayton Meserve suggested Fryeburg, and here we are.

A few rally highlights:

  • Dave Percival has opened the doors to his BMW Moto Museum on Friday and Saturday, 9a-5p, so be sure to take a ride to 295 N Main St., Andover ME 04216.
  • The GS Giants and Tom Asher Adventure Rider Academy are on site and ready to get down and dirty with us. Reserve your training slot online at tinyurl.com/bmwra24-taara.
  • Local breweries and restaurants bring us fine foods and drinks, so check out food and beverage options onsite.
  • We’ve got toe-tappin’ local music and a special guest that will bring a smile to every face.
  • If you have any questions or need a hand with something, look for a volunteer to point you in the right direction. And if you are looking to lend a hand, it’s never too late to sign up to be a volunteer!

Have some fun and make some memories!

Your rally co-chairs,
Wicked Drew and Goodie Jill

Check in as soon as possible after arriving in Fryeburg

In Fryeburg, navigate to the corner of Main Street & Swans Falls Road and turn onto Swans Falls. Enter the fairgrounds via the Livestock Entrance (Blue Gate #5). Street and map views are below. Check in with the rally Registration team at the ticket booth.

Think ahead about evening meals

If you want to eat dinner at Fandangle’s (the restaurant on the grounds of the rally) on any given evening, you should visit the BMWRA Rally Store between 10am and noon to make reservations. You may reserve for multiple days in one visit to the Rally Store, but the reservation deadline is noon for any given evening.

For example, if you want to eat dinner there on Saturday night, the deadline to make reservations is noon on Saturday, but you may also make a Saturday reservation by visiting the Rally Store on Thursday or Friday.

Fandangle’s will serve BBQ on Thursday evening, fish and chips with cole slaw or salad on Friday, and roast beef, italian pasta, and sausage on Saturday.

Visit the BMWRA Rally Store

Just down the street and around the corner from Registration, swing by the BMWRA Rally Store to…

  • Reserve your Fandangle’s dinner onsite at the rally for Thu, Fri, and/or Sat night(s);
  • Pick up your pre-ordered t-shirts; and
  • Peruse cool RA accessories and clothing.

What RV campers need to know

  • Before you leave home, print the downloadable pass you received with your online RV Pass purchase. Please print to 8.5 x 11 and, on the front, hand write clearly your arrival date and departure date. This will allow the camp host and fairgrounds staff to see at a glance how many days you registered for and which dates you will be staying.
  • When you first arrive, please proceed directly to the RV camping area (i.e., not Registration) and set up your site. This will help keep the main entrance from backing up. Once your camp is set up, display your pass (with hand written arrival departure dates) on your dash or in the window.
  • Head over to Registration to check yourself and your camper in. You may be asked to fill out an RV form, which, if necessary, may also serve as your dash/window pass.
  • Length of stay notes: At the time of purchase, you chose the number of nights you wish to stay between Tues, Aug 27, and noon on Tues, Sept 3.
    • If you wish to stay longer than originally anticipated, please mention this at registration and we’ll relay your next step, which will likely be to visit the fairgrounds office to reserve additional nights. Sept 3rd is the last night the fairgrounds expect any RV rallygoer to remain on site.
    • If you stay less days than originally intended, it is essential that you let us know. Please reach out to camp hosts Duck and Barb at (912) 663-3469 or discuss with a Rally Registration team member. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide RV refunds since the RA has already paid the fair according to the number of days you registered.
  • Remember you can have one extra tent along your RV on each individual campsite, should you have a friend who wishes to stay with you.
  • No open fires are allowed, but a fire pit that doesn’t result in damage to the ground is ok.

What tent campers need to know

  • CPAP Central will be marked with signs. We will have the extension cords available—first come, first served.
  • Please don’t set up camp in an area that is ribboned off and showing a charter club sign inside or outside the animal buildings (unless you are a member of that charter club, of course).
  • Camping in the animal barns: The straw in the stations must remain, as it will be bedding for the animals during the fair that will be held two weeks after our rally. If you push the hay aside, then be responsible and spread it back out when you prepare to leave.
  • If you want to eat dinner at Fandangle’s on any given evening, visit the BMWRA Rally Store between 10am and noon in order to make reservations. This applies to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
  • Attention charter clubs: Several have asked for indoor & outdoor space and we will do our best to make that happen.
  • Fires are not permitted on the ground, but self contained above-ground charcoal grills are permitted for food prep.
  • Washers and dryers are in the showers area should you need this service during the rally.

A side note: This is the first time the RA will be charged for tent campers by a fairgrounds. If you have a friend staying in the RV section, consider joining them since they are allowed one tent per site—it will save the RA $15 per tent per night. Of course, please offer your RV friend a thanks of some kind since they are paying for their site.

Visit our Vendor Marketplace in the air-conditioned Agricultural Expo Center to show some love to our onsite and virtual vendors. Also get a peek at rally prizes that have been generously donated by friends, organizations, and sponsors.
