Matt DeWaldBMW RA
When he started riding in 2009, Matt was an accountant in NYC. He used a friend’s house 50 miles away in NJ to store his first two motorcycles (a BMW F650CS and R1200R) and to launch his weekend rides. But Matt’s yearning for more riding and less working led to his ambition to move to NC in 2017, where he now lives in a home with a garage to store his bikes.
Over the course of 18 months in 2017 and 2018, Matt enjoyed exploring 41 US states, Canada, South Africa, and Peru - all on motorcycle. Now in a state of semi-retirement, he spends his time managing a real estate portfolio and modernizing the BMW Riders Association. Matt leads several projects to improve the club’s back-office functions, re-engineer the bmwra.org website, and beef up the member count through effective marketing programs.
