I can usually ignore comments like Mr. Eberle’s, however, in this case, I could not and I felt that posting a message for discussion was the best way to “get it off my chest”. I know that sending a private message directly to OTL or the club would not generate any response.

I guess another point could be added about BMW’s new bikes and the image and market BMW is trying to create.

There were these three Eskimos in Wisconsin, and one time while they were
at their local bar, they got to talking about how cold it was outside, and
how cold their igloos were. They could agree on everything but whose igloo
was the coldest, so they decided to determine who, indeed, had the coldest
igloo.
They went to the first Eskimo’s igloo, where he said “Watch this!” and
poured a cup of water into the air. Well, the water froze in mid-air and
fell onto the floor.
“Not bad” said the other Eskimos, but each maintained their igloo was
colder still.
So they went to the second Eskimo’s igloo, and he said “Watch this!”
and took a big breath and exhaled, whereupon his breath froze into a
big lump and fell to the floor.
“Wow, that’s colder than mine! “said the first Eskimo. But the third
Eskimo exclaimed his was colder still. So they ended up at the third
Eskimo’s igloo. He said “Watch this!” and went into the bedroom, threw
back the thick furs, and retrieved one of several small balls of ice
there. He took it, put it in a spoon, and held a match under it. When
it heated up enough, it went “FFFAAAARRRRTTT”.
He won.
Sounds like so far the majority like the consecutive weekends with the MOA rally idea. Sucks for me though. My wife cannot take more than one week at a time off work. Choices, choices, it’s one or the other rally for us. :(
The wife doesn’t HAAAAAAVE to go along…

Five days later, very disappointing that no one pays any attention.

I think that the earlier the club can announce the location, the more people will be able to make arrangements to attend.

I was trying to look at when the annoucement was made last year. It appears that it wasn’t announced until December:
From one of my many, many cotacts and moles, located at the highest positions possible inside of the RA, I have learned that the location for 2009 Rally will be announced in approx. two weeks. It will be east of the Mississippi, and in a very 😎 location. Stay tuned, more info is soon to come.
Dude, that’s some unreliable contacts and moles! And very disappointing that the club can’t get things together more efficiently.
It has been said that the RA is “laid back” which can be a good thing but your positives can also be your negatives. Many people need to plan vacations early in the year. It would be nice to know the next rally site sooner than later. It isn’t nearly as difficult to find a site for 1,200 to 1,500 people as it is for 6,000 to 10,000.

It would be nice to move to a new level above “laid back”.
+1 for a new level above laid back!!!

I’m wondering, does the RA consider the location of the MOA rally? I’m guessing there is no way to do that because the rally location isn’t announced earlier and the national rally planners are planning years in advance. As we all know, the 2009 MOA rally will be in TN. So, I agree with CTYankee that it would be nice to have the RA rally in another region, NE would be cool.

You could certainly use the forum to attempt to organize rides, campouts, or whatever. However, it doesn’t appear that this forum has a lot of activity.
