I haven’t seen anything about where to pre register for the upcoming 2010 RA Rally. any info??? thanks Kenny…
Pre-Registration is now up and running. It can be accessed from the RA main web site home page.
As Dan commented, negoations are well under way and an announcement will be forthcoming and timely with regard to the venue and time of year. I can leak a little and let you know to expect another summer event and that we will be revisiting a previous site. According to Debbi, the announcement will be in the next week or two, so please be patient.
Has anyone gotten their region up for an outing this past summer. I just returned from the Ohio Region’s Halloween Camp Out. Fabulous weather and great riding. We had RA members from all corners of the State attend. I would estimate about 40 showed up.
Yes, there will be a Region Reps meeting. I will notify all the reps when the time and place is confirmed by the rally committee. It usually follows the annual membership meeting which I encourage everyone to attend as well. Most times that meeting is around noon on Friday, so the RR meeting would likely be early afternoon. I’ll be sending a note when the times are finalized.
As Debbi stated there will be a General Membership meeting at 10 am on Saturday morning. Hopefully most of you will have had enough riding by the then be able to spare a few hours for the cause. Planning to attend the general membership meeting is a good idea because you will get a flavor of the leadership of the RA and what directions we are heading in. These meetings usually take about an hour and a half. Everyone will need to stretch and grab some lunch and then we can get the Regions Reps meeting going. This will likely be around noon or a little after. Check your rally schedule for the exact time. If none was published, plan on noon in the same area as the general membership meeting was. I always hope I will get to meet everyone.
See you there,
Bob Wood Regions Coordinator
The shopping cart for the rally registration is set up for a maximum of two (2) registrants per transaction. Additionally, the last section of the registration form must be completed to include the additional person’s (as well as some of your own) data.
I checked your registration form and you have completed all the required info and have sucessfully registered for both you and your wife. Your order also indicates you have purchased two BBQ tickets as well. Thank you for sharing your online registration experience with the forum. I hope you enjoy the event.
The RA’s official corporate name is BMW Riders Association, Inc. Many years ago riders from several other countries decided that the RA provided a much better match to their BMW lifestyle than other clubs, so the RA began collecting members outside the USA. Whoever was at the helm at the time decided we were becoming an international association and thus the “International” was added. There is no official “Intl.” in the legal name of the RA. However, one could definately use the acronym BMW RAI. I rather like simply the “RA” myself. Simple is the RA way you know.
Setting about to contact the web principals of a RA chartered local club to discuss a hot-linked RA logo somewhere on their site is definately a worthy project. The approach should be light with an outline of the virtues of associating with a true BMW umbrella club. Chartered Clubs are not mandated in any way to do this. If a non Chartered Club decided to display our logo, the RA Board may take issue with this depending on what implications the display had.
In any event contacting local clubs concerning issues like this is part of what the Region Rep is all about. Feel free to contact both chartered and non-chartered BMW clubs in your region to at least open a dialog. It can only be good.
