Hopefully this rally catches on and then when I retire in a few more years, I will be able to attend. Keep up the good work Mike.
I’d vote for an expansion too. I think the issue may be that there not really any “moderators” on the forum, not that we need them, but non motorcycle topic discussions can sometimes get heated. I say let’s give it a try…I promise to behave.
Welcome to the RA Quad Head. I too have been riding for decades and have been to many RA and MOA rallys. Except for the number of venders at the MOA rallies, and being up to 7 times larger, the RA almost always goes to the better sites, except for Vt, and IMHO are alway’s more fun and friendly. The forum is a little slow here on a good day, but thats ok. The MOA can sometimes be hard to visit due to the PC required on some subjects, unless of course the moderators agree with you. I finally called by phone. Could not apologize enough and I had the decal’s a few days later.
I just received my July/August issue in the mail this week(Monday, August 29th). Although once again, the corner of the magazine was mangled, it was a great issue. I really enjoyed the article about BMW Mottorad Days in Germany. It made me want to go! Maybe a Space A MAC flight over there one of these days…
Thanks also for not focusing on the S1000RR. :bow I hope it’s a continuing trend. I think you’ll find that most RA members ejoy reading articles about ALL facets of BMW Mottorad. Finding the balance is key.
Thanks again for a great issue. :hurray
I received mine on August 31st, (cutting it kind of close there RA) and I do enjoy reading about all of the different articles covering all that is BMW.
Welcome to the club. As for the oil thing, I don’t know. I run regular BMW dino and it works for me.
:hurray Keep up the good work sweetpea.:thumbJuly 24, 2011 at 2:10 pm in reply to: Show photo’s of your local club banner here from the 2011 rally. #62852
I saw my club banner (BMW MOV) late in the afternoon on Thursday, but by then I had set up under a shady tree and there was NO WAY I was going to give up my spot! 🙂
This was my second RA rally. Been to the MOA in TN also. But the Firecracker rally fit my thoughts of what a rally should be so well that it ranks up there as one of my fave trips of all time! Great people, lots of new friends, exceptionally well organized, good vendor participation, and not so stuck on enforcing rules that people couldn’t have fun!
I’m looking forward to hearing where it will be next year.
Pete (and Barley)
Hi Pete and Barley. This photo was taken on the way to the RA Rally, I think it was taken near Thunder Bay. And yes to all you said about the rally. Can’t wait to see where it will be next. year. I hope to attend the Vermont rally this Sept.July 24, 2011 at 2:10 pm in reply to: Show photo’s of your local club banner here from the 2011 rally. #62854
That was easy…thanks
I have been to approximately 20 RA rallies and can’t remember one of them that was so well organized!
Everything from the vendor’s locations, to making sure the rest rooms were kept clean and well stocked!
Jeanne and I also enjoyed riding in the parade :). (It was also well organized.)
There were many other positive things and extras but too numerous to write here.
You had to be there to appreciate them.
Only negative I can think of:
THE HEAT AND HUMIDITY the first two days!
Luckily Leinenkugel’s Brewery (free beer tasting) and an air-conditioned theater were close at hand 🙂 :).
Great 1st post. I’ve been to 10 RA Rallys and could not agree more with you.:yesnod
