I am looking to possibly trade in my 1992 K 100 RS (45,000 miles excellent condition) for a 1998 K 1200 RS (36,000 – clean and excellent condition). Can somebody let me know what you think about both bikes and thoughts about this move. I love my K 100 but feel the need to upgrade to newer technology – however without all the new gadgets.

I would like some input in order to make an informed decision based on rider knowledge and satisfaction.
    Thanks,
    David

Dave: I haven’t owned either bike, but have ridden them both. Your K100 is a very nice bike, but the newer K1200 is much improved. If you think you could part with the old girl, and you won’t get raked over the coals price wise, I’d go for it. (This coming from a confirmed airhead guy who just upgraded to an oilhead.) Good luck. Vaya con Dios, Dutch
