Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, but I couldn’t find it.
A land slide in May has closed the Pig Trail (AR 23) between Cass and Fly Gap (approximately 14 miles north of I-40). One lane briefly reopened, then another slide closed it again. Unfortunately, this is a beautiful part of the Pig trail in the Ozark National Forest and it is not scheduled to reopen until October 31st.

The detours from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department are anywhere from 84 to 99 miles. There are some local dirt roads from Cass to Fly Gap. Be brave or on a GS to take them. They look muddy after a rain (Google Earth image is from March 2014). Contact AHTD at (501) 569-2000 to be sure.
