FROSTY NUTZ CAMPGROUND CHANGE
For Immediate Release:
From: The Yankee Beemers
Subject: 2009 Frosty Nutz Campout Site Change.
Due to unforeseen delays with a construction project the famed Jamaica State Park will not be available for the Yankee Beemer’s annual Frosty Nutz Campout. Established over 20 years ago, the Frosty Nutz is the first YB overnight of the season. Conditions have ranged from glorious to snow with everything in between, yet this event continues to be one of our most popular. This is a members and invited guests only event, to get an invite just join our forum and chime in. www.yankeebeemers.org
Thanks to our good friends at the Vermont State Parks we are able to relocate the Frosty Nutz to the Wilgus State Park. Located on the Connecticut River Wilgus is known as both a great place to start a canoe adventure or an overnight stop on a longer paddle. The original facilities at Wilgus were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).
Wilgus State Park is located in Weathersfield, Vermont which is just south of Ascutney. Wilgus is 26 miles NE of Jamaica (52 road miles) From I-91 (Exit #8): Go 1-1/2 mi S on U.S. 5. Lat / Lon is N43 23.389 W72 24.432
We will be camping in lean-to’s and tent sites along the river. Park opens at noon on Friday, May 1.
NOTE: BECAUSE WE ARE UNDER A SPECIAL USE PERMIT THE PARK WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL NOON ON FRIDAY MAY 1. PLEASE NO EARLY ARRIVALS.
