This is my first BMW and the one I was waiting for since I saw the GS series for the first time 25 years ago.
This picture was taken at the Laconia Race Track in 1979. Its a 1978 R-80/7 with a Lufmister ferring and bags, Reynold back rest on fog lights on the crash bars. I wish I took more pictures when I was younger (23) when I purchased my first Beemer. Lets see yours.
1974 Curry R90/6
I bought it from a friend for about $1,000 in 1990 or so.
I sold it to another friend about a year later for $1,000. He still has it, but now it is silver 🙁
Silver is a great color for BMWs, but the Curry was a very interesting color that I thought looked very “period” on that bike.
I’ve been a little late in jumping on the BMW bandwagon. Having spent my entire adult life on Japanese bikes, I finally made the leap to a bike with some personality. Here’s my first and only BMW, a 2009 R 1200 RT that I bought last January.
2004 RT 1150 Titan Grey, What a great bike! Great for touring and daily driving.
1976 R60/6 with a Sputnik sidecar. I got some good videos on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6UDxNLV1BQ&feature=channel_page
1989 GS/PD equipped for the long haul and ready for the dirt.:D
My First BMW 1986-K100RS, followed by my second 2000-K1200RS. Rare photo with my stable having 2-bikes. Because of space limitations I’m a one bike man.
Ever have one of those motorcycles you wish you had kept?
Feels like I stepped backed to 1990 on this site! Love it!
Just WON it at end of June. Still getting used to it and the sheer joy of having a brand new bike for the first time in 20 years. Any help on hard cases options (stock, older models that might work) would be appreciated.
This is my first. A 2000 1150 GS. Had her for 4 years now and will never get rid of this beast. Looking for number 2, would like a 1200 C for cruising the two lane black tops of Northern Michigan.
r69 🙂 the most precious in my collection for now
