Bill Schoettler ( RA member # 41169) and your intrepid southern California correspondent  are planning to visit all 4 corners of this fabulous country in April. We’re going to take all month, and would like to meet and greet as many RA members as possible along the road.  Some of you have already been alerted and will be joining us for part of our journey. We’ll try to incorporate local chapter meetings whenever possible, so let us know when and where you guys meet. If you’ve got time for a cup of coffee, great !  Got room for a pair of weary travellers even better !

in 2012, Bill rode his K 1600 GTL to Alaska and back. He was joined by Clif Chu, who bought a K 1600 specifically for this trip. Clif had never ridden a motocycle before, and he had the bike delivered to his house by the dealer ship, because, as he admits, he was intimidated by the bike.  Up until this point, Clif had maybe 2 hours of riding experience – on a Honda 250 ! The rather unusual ‘Clifnotes’  posted on Adventure Rider website drew over 83,000 views and over 100 pages of comments.

Bill started riding when he was 75. Obviously he wants to pile miles on while he still can, I’m happy to be along for the ride.
