I have a job where I plan way in advance. Any idea when this information will be decided or released? I really enjoyed Harrison and want to attend the next event.

I to am interested in finding out which part of the country the Rally will be in.  Is it going to the East again like it seems to be lately or will it come out West?

We’re planning a presence at the BMW 100th anniversary in Laguna Seca. The dates are not certain but it will likely be the last two weekends of August. Laguna Seca is a top of the line venue in the Monterey, Cal. area. As soon as we have more specifics, we will post it here on the website. This will be an amazizng extravaganza with BMWs from all over the world. There’s a lot of planning that goes into this. Thus, few details to share right now.

BMW will celebrate its 100th anniversary at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, August 18-21, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.  It appears the RA rally will be held in conjunction with this event.  If it is, I’m a little disappointed.  While the venue is outstanding, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is basically a car show, not a motorcycle event.  We could easily be swallowed up by an event over which we have no control.

After doing some checking, lodging is going to be VERY expencive in that area.  Even within 50 miles of the track.

Another big question:  Will BMW NA and Berlin be in support of the RA Rally, or just ignore us???  And yes, as a CA resident, it will be VERY expensive to stay in a hotel/motel, as the locals always jack their prices for these events.  I could think of better places to hold a rally also, but Laguna Seca during race week is a ZOO and I’m not sure there are many pluses here, except an opportunity for folks who have not ridden it, to ride Hwy 1.  As good of an excuse to come out to the Left Coast as any!

From my experience there will be NO on site camping at the motorsports park. Campsites are available within 50-60 miles, as motels are, but this would be a very, very expensive outing.

    Persoally, I’ll not attend.

Well that’s a shame. Doesn’t sound like a rally. More like a trip to Disneyland.

My 2 cents says they are streching the definition when they call this a rally. I’ll not be attending this one. Maybe next year we’ll have a real rally like the one in Harrison. That was a lot of fun!

August 24 through 28 is what I believe the dates are for the combined RA and Car club rally. Still will not be cheap even after race week.

It looks as if all of your concerns were for nothing.  It is going to be a great Rally.

I’m here at Laguna Seca.  It’s poorly run, no beer tent, no food truck.  Have to ride 7 miles for food.  Nice area but crappy rally.
