I usually attend the RA and MOA Nationals, and have been a member for a longtime, but having the rally on a National Holiday is makes it hard to attend. My 4th of July’s, Thanksgiving and Christmas’s are family holidays.November 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm #62320vetbmwriderSpectator

This problem was looked into when the RA was making the decision on the rally dates. The problem was that the 2 dates to pick from were back to back weekends. They made the decision on the weekend of the fourth, because it gives individauls an extra day of travel that normally would have to take leave from work to attend this rally.November 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm #62576
But planning your route passes for winter fun in these parts! I plan on stretching this out as long as possible!
So far I plan on leaving on the afternoon of the Friday before, crossing into Ontario at Ogdensburg, and stopping for the night in a small town around the Perth/Smiths Falls area. Up bright and early Saturday taking a meandering route thru the Algonquin Provincial Park to Huntsville, then north to North Bay where I’ll stop for the night. Then 17 to Agawa Bay on the shore of Lake Superior on Sunday. That’s as far as I’ve gotten. Beyond that I have a vague notion of exploring and camping my way over Superior, stopping at Aerostich, then pressing on to the UP before veering SW to the Rally.
For the return trip there is another vague notion of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio (maybe looping down into Kentucky and West Virginia) before traversing Pennsylvania and New York to home.
Two weeks. Two glorious weeks with my dog and RA family members I’ve not yet had the chance to meet!November 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm #62321

I think it’s a great idea! I can ride out from Vermont earlier in the week before vacationers head out, will have no worries about finding a campsite over the holiday weekend, then can head up into Canada for the ride home. Barley and I are really looking forward to our second RA Rally!November 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm #62577DOGGETT MARKSpectator
For those interested, we will have a BMW motorcycle parade through Chippewa Falls during the rally that includes a police escort. Details in the rally program. What fun for the Fourth of July weekend. Wave at the kids and blow your horns.November 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm #62326OU812Spectator
Just my luck….Working that weekend and being a holiday can’t get off. Enjoy! I will be thinking of you all. Had a blast 2 years ago.:) Let me rephrase this. I can attend if I can get off the days. Certainly close enough to my house than say, West Virginia? Which by the way I had a great time at. :0November 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm #62327R80GuySpectator

We look forward to hosting a great party in Chippewa Falls, WI. We’re working hard to give you as much information as early as possible. The website should be live with 2011 rally information in the next couple of weeks.
For those that want to camp but don’t want to bring your tent, we’re pleased to have Sherpa Packer from CO. If you’d like to look at his site-www.sherpapacker.com
Motel information will be provided on the website. The fairgrounds have a lot of great camping spots too.

The rally site is 50 acres with lots of trees. Across the street from the walk-up entrance is a fantastic park/zoo with a long walking path and a lot of buffalo, deer, small game, bear, etc. Really cool.November 1, 2010 at 4:57 pm #62333watermeary2Spectator
