A great loss

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that our Trustee and Region Rep Coordinator Kent Skoug lost his life in a motorcycle accident yesterday, July 14th, while failing to navigate a turn on Lolo Pass area between Idaho and Montana. His bike went off the road and he hit a tree. He was pronounced at the scene.

Kent was an experienced rider. He was on an around the country ride visiting clubs and region reps. He was doing this for the RA. Kent was the hardest working region rep I had the pleaseure of working with and was recently elevated to the role of Region Rep Coordinator. He was also the Co-Chair of our recent 2014 Rally at Barber Motorsports. His wife Ursula said he died doing what he loved.

He will be deeply missed.

Kent will be sorely missed.  He was a great guy and an absolute gentleman.  I have gotten to know him and Ursula well over the last few years.  They are wonderful people.

He was a skilled rider and adamantly loved motorcycling.

God speed.

I only recently met Kent but he was a great guy and will be missed by many.  Condolences to his family.

Re: A great loss

I first met Kent in 2005.  This year, he recruited me to become the NC/SC Regions Rep.  That was his job and he was moving on to become the coordinator of all the Region Reps.  He and I were going to visit all the dealers in my region when he returned from his trip.  My job will be done with a heavy heart and a constant reminder of how much Kent meant to me and to the BMWRA.  I look forward to doing his old job and knowing I will never meet the standard he set.
