Sticking your thumb out for no good reason

Will,

In your April '12 Living in the Past article you wrote:

Battery dead. Great. Battery's warranted, so I leave the bike and stick my thumb out....

Apparently you aren't quite used to living in the past. The R69S/US (unless modified) uses a magneto ignition system. The bike doesn't need a battery to get you on your merry way. Certainly lack of a working battery is not a good reason to leave the poor bike alone. Someone who knows better may stick a twig in the ignition (assuming you bothered taking the key with you) and ride your baby away.
