Install Auxillary Lights Using EZCan

Anyone out there install auxilary lights using the HEX ezCan?

I have a set of Baja Design Squadron Pro LED's.  Got an ezCan on the way.  Everything on YouTube says plug and play.  What I don't see is how the lights plug into the ezCan.  Maybe you plug the lights into some connector in the wiring harness???  Maybe you need a cable between the lights and ezCan.  Don't see anything that describes how this connection is made.  It's a R1200GS LC  2016

Thanks for any assistance.

The EXCAN plugs in to the CANBUS box. It has another name, but this is what it should look like on a GS. The plug that went in to the box plugs in to the other end. It only works one way so you can't get it wrong.

Re: Install Auxillary Lights Using EZCan

If you are asking how to plug the lights in to the EZCAN, you have 4 connectors which are color coded which came with the device.  You need to splice the lights in to those connector unless these lights happen to fit on the EXCAN connectors. I know my D2 did not. You also need to decide on the configuration you want before deciding how to splice the lights in. When they talk about plug and play they are not assuming the lights and horns will plug in without modifications. That is why they give you the 4 connectors. Hope this helps. The hexcan is great once set up. I especially like that the Auxiliary lights flash when the horn is activated. The 20A plug will also connect directly to a Sound Blaster horn without having to add a switch.

Re: Install Auxillary Lights Using EZCan

Mine is in.  Thanks for the info.  Just a couple FYI's.

The pic you show has the box, RDC, in a different place.  Different from the Youtube videos as well.  Mine had a smaller box for who knows what but it was not the RDC which is where you have to connect to the CanBus.  Mine was further to the rear under that silver cross piece.  If you put in the sound blaster you will have to come up with a configuration that will lower output to the lights.  Two of the outputs are "high" output and two are "low".   Normal configuration is for each of two front leds to use the two high output leads.  When you add a third high output like the horn, something has got to change.
