New to the RA National -- site map?

This will be my first RA National Rally (been to a few MOA Nationals, so I have some idea of what to expect).

Is there a map of the site (or a link to one)? Looking to get an idea of the "lay of the land" -- camping location, vendor area, etc.

Thanks!

Mark

Re: New to the RA National -- site map?

The best way to view it is via google earth. It's east of Birmingham, just befroe Leeds, off I-20. As you zoom in, you can see the track and an area with trees in straight rows. That's the camping/rally area. The vendors are in and around the building near the tree aisles. Here's an image of the rally area.  It may appear small but there's cars in the image that are so small, I doubt you can see them. There is plenty of room for campers and RVers. To zoom in, you have to go to google earth.

Google Barber Motorsports Park and Museum to see all that goes on there.

This would also be my first RA rally. Are there trees in the camping area for hanging a hammock or will I need a ground tent?

The rows of trees in the image I attached two posts ago are too far apart to us a hammock but the trees around the perimeter are various sizes and I think you could hang a hammock in them. The earlier you pre-register and arrive, the better your chances of getting a tree you like. I would be inclined to play it safe and bring  tent.

Having never been to an RA Rally, and constrained by time where I could only stay 1 night.  Which night would be the best to experience the rally.

Arrive Friday morning and Depart Saturday afternoon.

Arrive Saturday morning and Depart Sunday afternoon.

Input welcome.

If you are limited as you say, I would leave by late Saturday afternoon. Vendors and other activities end Saturday p.m. and the biggest door prizes are given out at closing ceremony, late Saturday afternoon.  I think arriving Friday would give you the most regarding seminars, vendors, camping and visiting the museum.
