65 years young andTravelling through Canada- insurance questions.

I have traveled through Canada five or six times, but I have never really thought about insurance before. I know my auto insurance carries over to Canada, but what about health insurance? Does Medicare cover me in Canada? What about private health insurance? I will inquire more on Monday, but if anyone has any more immediate information, I would like to know. Thanks.

My self search on the NET seems to indicate that to travel to Canada, or through Canada, you need to get a special travel policy. Medicare, and most likely your personal policy won't cover you. If the special foreign travel policy is too expensive then I guess I will just re-route my trip to Wisconsin through the U.S.. It is disappointing!
