Lights for the R1200RT?

Hi all,

I wanted to ask you folks to comment on the sealed LED headlights for the R1200RT. One of the lights has a crack in it (I mean the outer plastic lens), and I thought of replacing both light assemblies with LEDs. As my R1200RT is still new to me, I thought I'd better ask you before I go and buy something that will throw errors, hyperflash, etc. Sure thing, I can live with that crack as the light still works, and just gets foggy from time to time, but I'd like the bike to be perfect, you know.

Appreciate any help/recommendations.

Thanks, Andrew.

That is why the first thing I added to my 2018 RT was an Aero Flo headlight protector.   I would love to replace my headlights with LEDs.  The crack in your photo seems to be in the lens cover which is a solid piece unit that is veruy expensive to replace from what I've read on other RT forums.

I appreciate your replies, folks.

Yes, that's the outer plastic cover. I will check on how to replace it, sir. But the idea of fitting LEDs instead of the regular reflectors seemed a nice alternative to replacing the cover until you folks told me the price.

That's the price for Daymakers, right? seems to be quite a costly upgrade.... I saw a set of LEDs that say they are 'Daymaker style' and they are $220 (link - moto id). Don't you think they can be also a good fit? As if my only option is paying $1K+ for the lights, I'd rather get a new lens cover then....

Thanks,

Andrew.

Re: Lights for the R1200RT?

The low beam bulb burned out on my 14 R1200RT (same color as the pic above).  I too have the AeroFlow protector.

I replaced the OEM bulb with a "SUPER SPOT LED H7 Upgrade Bulb."  Installation was a BEAR, but eventually got it into the headlamp assembly, and I'm very happy with the illumination.  No codes!

I bought it through EuroCycles of Tampa Bay:
